Head of US Catholic bishops: Church is not fading

These Catholic leaders are a piece of work…

1. They belong to a criminal organization which for centuries tortured and slaughtered hundreds of thousands of innocent people throughout Europe.

2. They have a history of being in bed with Kings and dictators, and as such have acquired more wealth than any other entity on Earth, yet they still want more.

3. They continue to degrade gays and lesbians even though their church is filled with homosexuals.

4. They oppose condom use and embryonic stem cell research, among other tools beneficial to societies across the globe.

5. The Catholic Church is full of sexual deviants and shady characters, not the least of which are pedophile priests.

In short, the Catholic Church is a sham. TGO

BALTIMORE (AP) — The president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops says the church should not be dismissed as an outmoded bureaucracy.

Archbishop Timothy Dolan says the church is a spiritual family that has much to teach the world.

Dolan is the archbishop of New York. He spoke Monday at the start of the national meeting of American Roman Catholic bishops.

Catholics are the largest religious group in the United States, with about 65 million members. Still, Dolan noted that studies have found significant numbers of Catholics are leaving as the U.S. becomes less religious. The archbishop acknowledged the ideological divisions among Catholics, and he said bishops repent daily for their missteps.

But he says the church should not be defined by its problems.

The public meeting runs through Tuesday.
