Rick Santorum Reacts to Obama Allowing Daughter to Vacation in Mexico: ‘Set an Example’

Being that Rick Santorum is such a devout Catholic with apparently exceedingly high morals, and so concerned about people of authority setting good examples, I wonder why he doesn’t criticize the crimes against children that his church is renowned for? Why not criticize the pedophile priests, bishops, etc. for committing these despicable crimes and Vatican leaders for covering them up?

Oh wait, do you suppose that he’s a hypocrite and being selective in his criticism? Would a man of God do such a thing? What do you think? TGO

On Tuesday’s Glenn Beck program, Rick Santorum responded to the news that the president allowed his 13-year-old daughter, Malia, to vacation in Mexico, despite a recent State Department travel warning for the country. According to Santorum, the president should be leading by example.

“What I would say is that the president’s actions should reflect what his administration is saying,” Santorum told Beck. “If the administration is saying that it’s not safe to have people down there, then just because you can send 25 Secret Service agents doesn’t mean you should do it. You should set an example. I think that’s what president’s do. They set an example. And when the government is saying this is not safe, then you don’t set the example by sending your kids down there.”

He also noted that he wasn’t being critical of the president’s daughter, but rather referencing the president’s “higher duty.”

“[C]rime and violence are serious problems throughout the country and can occur anywhere,” the travel warning reads. “U.S. citizens have fallen victim to TCO activity, including homicide, gun battles, kidnapping, carjacking and highway robbery.” [Emphasis added]

Luckily, no specific warning was issued for the exact area (Oaxaca) Malia is said to be visiting. However, there have been concerns about that area in the past.
