Evangelists claim ‘Noah’s Ark’ discovery on Turkish mountain

Imagine that, about 4800 years ago Noah’s Ark came to rest on a mountaintop in Turkey. Yet somehow, these animals migrated from Mount Ararat to places like Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica, the North Pole, etc. Never mind that the animals on this ark first had to be somehow sequestered and then fed for 150 days (until the waters receded). How much food did Noah have on this ark anyway?

What kind of a moron must one be to actually believe in the biblical story of Noah’s Ark?

By the way, the article below mentions that this discovery was made by a group of “evangelical archeologists.” What exactly are evangelical archeologists? Either they’re archeologists or they’re not. When the term evangelical is placed ahead of the scientific study of archeology it tells me, as it should tell everyone, that these people are going to find what they’re looking for; whether it’s there or not.

And just to close, why are these “evangelical archeologists” supposedly using carbon dating to establish the age of the wood used in this ark? When real scientists use carbon dating to establish the age of rocks, prehistoric bones, meteors, etc., and the result is that these  items prove to be millions if not tens or hundreds of millions of years old, these Bible freaks say the method is unreliable.  Of course, the reason they say it’s unreliable is because they believe the universe was created by God approximately 6000 years ago. But carbon dating is either reliable or not; which is it?

Ah, why continue? The long and the short of it is that these evangelical Christians belong in an insane asylum. TGO

HONG KONG (AFP) – A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers said Monday they believe they may have found Noah’s Ark — four thousand metres up a mountain in Turkey.

The team say they recovered wooden specimens from a structure on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey that carbon dating proved was 4,800 years old, around the same time the ark is said to have been afloat.

“It’s not 100 percent that it is Noah’s Ark but we think it is 99.9 percent that this is it,” Yeung Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker and member of the 15-strong team from Noah’s Ark Ministries International told AFP.

The structure had several compartments, some with wooden beams, which were believed to house animals, he said.

The group of evangelical archaeologists ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds that one had never been found above 3,500 metres in the vicinity, Yeung said.

Local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for UNESCO World Heritage status so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted, Yeung added.

The biblical story says God decided to flood the earth after seeing how corrupt it had become, and told Noah to build an ark and fill it with two of every animal species.

After the flood waters receded, the Bible says, the ark came to rest on a mountain. Many believe that Mount Ararat, the highest point in the region, is where the ark and her inhabitants came aground.

  1. Some people live(d) longer than others because they have(had) longer telomeres.

    • TGO says:

You can’t be serious, we’re talking 900 years. Surely you don’t believe this. Telomeres are not even remotely proven to increase the lifespan of rats in laboratories.

  2. Here’s somemore great material to chew on, http://GlobalFlood.org.

    • TGO says:

Sending me links to websites with ridiculous claims is useless. If you want to make me believe this nonsense of Noah’s Ark, you need to begin to explain to me how Noah could be 600 years old when he built the Ark, and lived to be another 300 following the Flood. Begin with explaining that trivial bit of lunacy.

  3. “Mental illness?” Refute the facts.

  4. The book of Genesis is surely true history, see http://DancingFromGenesis.com.

    • TGO says:

How anyone in today’s day and age could even remotely attempt to justify the possibility that the story of Noah’s Ark is a real occurrence needs not one, but an entire staff of psychotherapists; and even then his or her mental illness would be incurable. This fairy tale is so completely absurd and on so many fronts that it is not even worth discussing.

WOW. What could have gotten you so upset with Bible believers. I can only imagine that you are either a minority or gay. This would give you the boldness to rail on Christians while all along getting upset every time someone spoke against your particular situation. Well?
