Some people, such as Bernie Sanders, are simply hypocrites for defending socialism. They know better, and they know better because they have accumulated wealth and aren’t willing to part with what they have. Others, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who promotes socialism just as Bernie Sanders does, is also a hypocrite. Except in her case, she wants to acquire wealth, because she’s young and ambitious. Hopefully people aren’t ignorant enough to believe she got into politics for the good of our country, do they?
Just think about it, these people’s salary is well over $100,000/per year, and that doesn’t include all of the perks and benefits that go with the job. Yet, you don’t see any of them giving away their money, do you?
Now consider this, these two individuals (and other socialists like them) don’t produce anything or employ anyone. They certainly can’t be compared with the billionaires who they criticize, people such as Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos for instance. Yet ironically, and hypocritically, they both use the products/services of the very people they criticize! If that’s no hypocrisy I don’t know what is!
Where would we be without capitalism and everything that entrepreneurs have contributed to society? Every modern product and convenience we have is a result of capitalism. The entire planet has profited from the capitalistic system!
Finally, you have the average university students. They have been indoctrinated by “the system” (academia, Hollywood, liberal media). They’re the new “hippie generation” except now they all have cell phones, laptops, and drive BMWs. But sure, they more than anyone will also tell you they believe in socialism. But I won’t call them hypocrites just yet, let’s just say they’re young and still have a lot to learn. TGO
