A very good video, although I completely disagree with its message.
A brief personal explanation: I am a “defensive” person. I have what Jordan Peterson would call an “agreeable personality”. I tend to be overly concerned about other individuals, no matter the situation. For example, I try to make sure my circle of friends get along with one another. If someone plans a get-together, I ask why so and so wasn’t invited and worry about him or her being hurt. Another example might be that I worry that I have a certain title at the office and that a colleague of mine who is just as qualified doesn’t have an equal or even a more senior level title. In other words, I am always at the ‘effect’ of things rather than at the ’cause’ of things. Even though technically in these two examples I really should not be worried as they are things beyond my doing or control, I still worry about them.
Now, turning the focus to competition, I enjoy playing chess and am an above-average player (somewhere in the high 1500 range). Because I am technically sound in chess I am able to defeat many opponents. The problem is, that as in life, I am a defensive player. When playing a game of chess and facing an extremely aggressive player, more often than not I will succumb to the pressure and lose. So, I learned that in chess, as in life, and certainly in war, defense generally loses.
Just think about it, the aggressor always has the initiative, always has you on your heels, always has you guessing, always has you ducking and parrying, always has you reacting instead of acting… and this is what is happening (and has happened) in our society. This is why democrats (liberals) control the media, the entertainment industry, the sports industry and academia. What do republicans (conservatives) control? Nothing. We are always on the defensive; the nice guys. We always concern ourselves with the perception of others, while the other side doesn’t care. We always play by the rules while the other side will bend and even break the rules if it will lead to victory, because victory is all they see – all they strive for. They are the bully, always looking to take and maintain the advantage while we are the nice kid always trying to stay out of their way.
I believe that until such time as conservatives grow a pair and stop worrying about other people’s perception, we will lose at every front. Just think about this, there is one word thrown at us that stops us in our tracks, that word is racist. Liberals just have to say that one word and conservatives (afraid of being labeled as such) IMMEDIATELY go into defense mode; they act, we react. Meanwhile, they do all kinds of shady (or worse) things and get away with it. They’re the bully while we’re the nice kid.
Just think for a minute at the following events: the fabricated Russian collusion hoax, the Mueller investigation, the Brett Kavanaugh “trial”, the Trump impeachments, the George Floyd circus with the rioting and looting, the Black Lives Matter protests, the 2020 election fiasco, the defund the police movement and what it has done to our cities, the clown show going on at our southern border, the censoring of free speech by big tech – now with involvement from our federal government! This is just a microcosm of the myriad of things thrown at us by the Left, and it NEVER STOPS!
Bottom line… being on the defensive may sound noble but it simply DOESN’T WORK, and one of the many reasons it doesn’t work is that the other side (the aggressors) are NEVER SATISFIED. They never have enough and their thirst for power is NEVER QUENCHED. This is why they always win, if for no other reason, they will always wear us out.
